I often don't even notice the simple and understated anymore. My eyes search for the special and "beautiful" things and overlook what is. Too much that is ostentatious and excessive clouds my perception.
Like the tourist resorts in Alsace, everything is very pleasingly spruced up and certainly beautifully done. And so, in inner peace and morning tranquility, I now notice the beauty in all this simplicity – after everything else has fallen from my sight.

In the afternoon, I strolled through the beautiful city center of Belfort with my dear sister Christine and her husband Roger. We sat in a café for a long time and had a wonderful conversation.
Intellectual exchange is wonderful after a long time alone in the fields and meadows.
Furthermore, we went on a journey of discovery, as Christine's eye had happened to spot the Lion of Belfort.
